DARPA Announces AI Cyber Challenge Winners - ExecutiveGov

Team Atlanta wins DARPA's AI Cyber Challenge, securing $4 million for developing an artificial intelligence system that autonomously detects and patches software vulnerabilities.

The two-year competition challenged teams to create AI-driven cyber reasoning systems capable of identifying and fixing security flaws in open-source software used in critical infrastructure like financial systems, utilities, and healthcare. Team Atlanta, comprising experts from Georgia Tech, Samsung Research, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology, outperformed six other finalists with support from major AI companies including Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI.
